At SEND a friend, I am committed to making my services accessible and inclusive for all parents and caregivers, including those with disabilities or additional needs. As a sole trader supporting families of children with autism, I understand the importance of clear communication, flexibility, and accessibility in every interaction.

My Commitment

I aim to ensure that:

  • All clients feel welcomed, respected, and understood

  • Services are adaptable to individual needs

  • Communication is clear, supportive, and free from jargon

  • Venues (in-home or online) are as accessible as possible

  • Online content, booking processes, and written materials are easy to understand and use

In-Person Sessions

For home visits:

  • I will work with you to accommodate your physical access needs (e.g., mobility considerations, quiet environments)

  • I am flexible in arranging sessions around your routine and comfort level

  • If you or someone in your home has specific sensory needs, I will do my best to adjust my approach accordingly

 

Online Sessions

  • I use accessible platforms such as Zoom, which support live captioning and screen-reader compatibility

  • I can adjust the pace of sessions or provide breaks if needed

  • Readable fonts and high-contrast colours

  • Mobile responsiveness

  • Clear layout and structure

Accessibility adjustments on this site

We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines, and have made the site accessible to the level of AA.  We have:

  • Used the Accessibility Wizard to find and fix potential accessibility issues

  • Set the language of the site 

  • Set the content order of the site’s pages

  • Defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages

  • Added alternative text to images

  • Reduced the use of motion on the site
